Legendary Hunter Of The Shrouded Ghost

Many people in the comments note how the tracker ofttimes stops at 4 or 5%. As long equally your in-game commendations reflect you've completed the requirements, near accept had success contacting Rare and they somehow fix it on a per user basis(?)

*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***Edit: Based on feedback, I've tried to brand this as all-inclusive as I tin, so if there's anything I've missed or gotten wrong, please annotate abroad!

There is also a lot of information here, so if you lot have particular grievances and recommendations for formatting, feel costless to share in a constructive manner:)

Overview
Outset things kickoff, like all things Sea of Thieves, this will be a grind, albeit an arguably more than [relaxing/mindnumbing] grind than others. Assuming you don't become grieved by randoms that is. My best advice regarding that particular pleasantry is don't get likewise long without cashing in. I'd probably say an hr or so max but it's up to yous. If you practise discover yourself existence chased, your best bet is to merely canvas the seas going by the different Sea Posts and have a couple people jump off each time as you lot canvas on, naturally prioritising the rarer fish offset.

A small UI/UX tip

*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***to note if you're multitasking (more than probable when you're hunting down the last of a specific species), if yous move your view to the side/up/wherever else using cn_RS, when a fish spawns and is attracted to your bait, information technology'll automatically snap you photographic camera back to the middle. Then you tin rapidly decide if you need to hitting LT (to relieve your bait) or engage in reeling information technology in, earlier going back to whatever else you were doing/looking at.

To get this achievement, in that location are 57 commendations in the Hunter's Phone call that you have to max out. This consists of 50 fish-related ones, 6 cooked meat ones and one miscellaneous junk-fishing one.

Note that all kinds of meat and fish tin be found randomly in barrels, peculiarly sunken ships then make certain to search them alongside your hunt for shipwrecked chests (for the otherwise unrelated Hoarder of Barnacled Gilt achievement).

Cooked Meats
Each type of meat must be sold 50 times for course V.
Unlike the fish, these items must be perfectly cooked in order to count, simply never fear, this is easy with minimal practice. In that location are two indicators to tell you something has been cooked.
i)

The colour has changed

- as food cooks, its color progressively changes, with larger meats (Megladon, Kraken, Trophies) taking longer. The last colour is a bit different for each meat, merely you'll shortly become to know them, especially when you utilise...
ii)

The sizzle sound

- there is a key difference in the sizzling betwixt when something is cooking and when something is going to burn. The post-cooking sound is more than similar a spitting oil audio.

Craven, Pork, Snake

- Respective animals take a chance to spawn on a diversity of islands

Shark

- Spawn after spending a decent clamper of fourth dimension in oceans

Megalodon

- After defeating a meg information technology will usually drop 3-iv pieces of 1000000 meat

Kraken

- After defeating the kraken (can spawn in server shortly after someone completes current earth event e.g. fort/armada). Quite rare in my feel, definitely one where searching barrels/shipwrecks volition be useful.

Fishing
Most fish species consist of four rarity tiers (below, increasing numbers will indicate increasing rarity) and a luminescent (below denoted by L), the latter of which just spawn at dark. Furthermore, the majority require one of iii types of bait that tin can either exist found in barrels or have a chance to exist dug upwards.

Baits

Earthworms

can be dug up on the grassy/midland areas. Used for Wildsplashes / Plentifins / Wreckers.

Grubs

can be dug upward from the sand. Used for Devil fishes / Battlegills.

Leeches

can be dug up at the closest point between the sand and the waves. Used for Ancientscales / Stormfishes.

That said, at that place are some fish that crave additional criteria to spawn. This will be noted where applicable.

L:

Amethyst

, institute at Devil's Ridge, Smuggler's Bay, Mermaid's Hideaway, The Crooked Masts, Old True-blue Island, Flintlock Peninsula and Ophidian Island (even so at night).
Edit: Islehopper corrections credited to https://seaofthieves.gamepedia.com/Fish

Plentifins

4: Muddy
L: Coral

Ancientscales

Fifty: Starshine

Devilfishes

- Spawn in The Devil's Roar, requires grubs.
Tip: Try up n as you tin avoid volcanoes, just not too far as it won't count as Devil's Roar
1: Ashen
2: Seashell
3: Lava
4: Forsaken
L: Firelight

Battlegills - Spawn near active forts or skelly ships, requires grubs.
Tip: Every bit of 23/03/20 15/03/21, in that location is all the same a glitch where a skelly ship can exist triggered whilst y'all're at a shipwrecked ship and not be able to spawn (until you sail away) only y'all tin can still get battlegills so take advantage if this happens to you!
Edit: from personal experience, even if you don't move the ship an inch, the skelly transport will eventually give upward and disappear - this will exist obvious as the battle music volition finish.
Edit 2: This mini exploit may exist stock-still, awaiting further confirmation, thanks xSTU360. Thanks to mrbellek for confirming it does still work every bit of fifteen/03/21

Edit 3: A handy pull a fast one on from mrbellek...

if you bait a skeleton ship into aggro'ing on you, then park in the middle of Thieves Oasis (the big island in the center South part of the map), the skeleton ship will circumvolve the island indefinitely and y'all can fish for Battlegills in relative piece. Note that the skeleton ship volition despawn when the current world outcome ends (Fort, Skeleton Fleet, Flameheart, Ashen Winds, etc).

1: Jade
2: Sky
3: Rum
four: Sand
L: Bittersweet

Stormfishes - Spawn in storms, requires leeches

Aboriginal

, found only in storms within the Ancient Isles

Shores

, establish simply in storms within the Shores of Plenty

Wild

, establish simply in storms within the Wilds

Shadow

, can exist institute in storms anywhere.

Some argue that best chance is in the Loonshit area betwixt Shores of Enough, Wilds, and Ancient Isles

Fifty: Twilight

Wreckers - Spawn nigh shipwrecks (located past a dense flock of birds circling to a higher place), requires earthworms
1: Rose
ii: Sun
3: Blackcloud, Will just spawn by a shipwreck in a storm
4: Snow
L: Moon

Treacherous Plunder i.east. Junk (x50) - Spawn anywhere, requires no bait.
Whilst non-allurement fish tin can yet spawn when using bait, for these information technology is actually required. Information technology spawns by suddenly appearing on your hook, no vibration or sound cue, and so continue a sharp eye!

Tip:

*** Spoiler - click to reveal *** Effort for these in the spots with pondies equally it takes less fourth dimension per endeavor. Even better: start upward Alpine Tale ix and go the Shores of Gold. In the middle-southern of the island is a pond. If you get on the stone and notice a spot where you lot can throw your line, pondies will spawn merely then de-spawn due to infinite issues. Eventually, a piece of plunder will spawn. Well, that or an Ashen key. Okay, you'll go a lot of ashen keys. Just this is probably the all-time method out there!

Examples include:
- Boot
- Skull
- Hat
- Fish bones

You can also discover wooden planks and ashen keys, but these cannot exist sold to Hunter'due south Telephone call and thus practise not count.
